The Roots
The white light of Lisbon and the whitewashed houses of Alentejo, the sea and the fields, the urban coast and the rural interior are deeply ingrained in Nuno.
These elements are always present in his work, reflected in the tones and textures, shapes and concepts, imagination and essence. There is always some reference to Portugal. Whether in the form of a popular custom, a color, or even a musical theme. As a starting point for the pieces he designs and creates.
The Career
From a young age, he started drawing with a special interest in the human figure.
Drawing the body and designing for the body has been the motto from very early on. He studied Industrial Fashion Design in Lisbon, which brought him closer to the design processes used in the garment industry. But he has always been passionate about Haute Couture techniques.
His clothing pieces blend these two worlds, whether in the choice of high-quality materials, industrial modeling, or in the manual or artisanal finishes. This year, 2023, marks the celebration of 25 years of his career.
The Atelier
It is in the city of Elvas that the brand develops, along with a very close team of seamstresses.
It is also here that he carries out various projects in the fields of photography, screen printing, engraving, and cyanotype.
The idea of temporal transversality is not only a reference in his work but a constant. He also regularly collaborates with photographers, illustrators, filmmakers, musicians, singers, and writers.
